S – Psalm 18:30 – “As for God, His way is perfect, the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him.”

O -- This is a Psalm of David. It was sung after a great military victory David had experienced. David recognizes God’s might, power, and perfection, but he also realizes that God desires to extend help to him. David praises God for his deliverance, his success, his victory.

A-- This verse reminds me that God’s way is perfect, mine is not. I know His ways are not my ways and His thoughts are not my thoughts. So, this also reminds me that what I think is perfect, may not always be what God thinks is perfect, and what I think is imperfect, He may actually see as perfect. That’s humbling and comforting all at the same time. He is the powerful one and the one who is willing to shelter me and provide protection, support, deflection from the arrows of life for me when I need it, IF I take refuge in Him, not in my own strength. Verse 32 later in the Psalm says, “It is God who arms me with strength and make my way perfect.” It is only as I yield to Him that I will be able to experience an understanding of His perfect way, the ability to listen and respond to the flawless word of the Lord, and strength and protection for the battles of life.

P – God Almighty, may I see with eyes that more fully comprehend Your greatness and Your perfect way. May I see others as You see them. May I yield my will and allow You to be my shield, and may I listen more to clearly hear the word of the Lord for my life.
